Deliver Real Change

Roadmap to a Stronger Oregon

As a lifelong Oregonian, writer, investor, and community advocate from Lincoln County, David Howard Elton founded Elton for Oregon to fight back against the failed policies coming out of Salem and Portland. We’re tired of rising costs, soft-on-crime approaches fueling chaos, regulations strangling our timber, fishing, and tourism jobs, and a Governor who puts urban elites and failed experiments ahead of hardworking families.

Under Governors Kate Brown and now Tina Kotek, Portland has become a national symbol of decline: exploding homelessness, persistent violent crime despite selective stats, businesses fleeing high taxes and regulations, and policies that burden rural and coastal communities while ignoring our veterans, seniors, and small businesses. Kotek’s low approval ratings reflect the reality—Oregonians deserve better representation, safer streets, lower taxes, and leaders who put our state first.

David is leading the charge through Elton for Oregon to support proven candidates who will challenge and defeat Tina Kotek in 2026. We’re backing fighters like Christine Drazan (who nearly won in 2022 and is running strong again), Ed Diehl (standing up against wasteful transportation taxes), Chris Dudley (bringing executive experience and unity), and others ready to restore accountability.

From the stunning beaches to the rural heartlands across our state, Oregon’s true strength lies in our communities—not in Portland’s failed progressive experiments. Join us to flip the narrative, hold Salem accountable, and deliver the common-sense leadership our coast and state deserve.

What We’re Fighting For

Safer Streets, Lower Taxes, Better Representation for All Oregonians

  • Public Safety: Reversing failed drug policies to protect our families.

My parents, Michal David Elton and Kay Strong Elton, moved our family to Lake Oswego in 1972 when I was just six years old. They chose it as the best place to raise a family. A decision that shaped my life. My father built a successful business right here in town, providing for us and instilling values of hard work, community, and responsibility. Growing up in that stable, beautiful environment taught me what makes Oregon special: strong families, opportunity, and neighbors looking out for one another.
